Once you have completed MSB’s Prologue and Story, you may want to work towards a professional accreditation with the International Coaching Federation. The ICF’s Level 1 Accreditation shows that you are serious in your commitment to coaching ethics, professionalism and coaching as a significant part of your future career.
MSB will take you through every step of the process, which includes a portfolio of 100 coaching hours, reflections on your ongoing learning, mentor coaching and preparation for the ICF exam.
The Content
For level 1, there are 5 further elements to complete; the Learning Team at MSB is here to guide you through each step:
1. Coach Education – 60 hours
Through Prologue and Story, you have 52 hours of Coach Education. We offer a further 8 hours in Group Coaching facilitation.
2. Coaching Hours
You will need 100 coaching hours. You can begin logging these hours after Part One of Story.
3. Mentor Coaching – 10 hours
In Story, you have completed 4 hours of Group Mentor Coaching. You will top up to ten including 3 x 1:1 sessions with an MSB Mentor. The ideal time to begin mentor coaching is when you have 40-50 hours in your coaching log.
4. Performance Evaluation
You submit a selected recording of a coaching conversation along with an annotated transcript showing where you are meeting the ICF core competencies.
5. ICF Exam
A computer based exam based on your knowledge of the ICF core competencies and code of ethics.
