There was a long-held desire on the part of leaders who worked had been coached by MSB to create a Leadership programme that provided a confidential space for them to share challenges and gain expert advice, as well as supporting them individually with coaching and the expansion of their Leadership skills.
International school leaders can sometimes feel isolated in their part of the world, with no immediate community to discuss school leadership issues with. There was a clear need for an outward facing network of high quality leaders who could learn from each other and form an ‘inner circle’ of support
What we did
MSB created the Leadership Mastermind programme.
This comprises four key elements; 1:1 coaching; monthly group calls; quarterly mastermind sessions (where participants present their leadership challenge and gain advice from their peers) and skills sessions throughout the year focussing on specific leadership topics.
The programme runs over a twelve month period and spaces are limited to 12 spaces per cohort. It is delivered online, and supported by an LMM online community in our network. It is a lively space where people share ideas.
The group call curriculum is based on positive psychology and gives participants skills to master their mindset to be the leader they want to be in any situation or context.
Members of the LMM programme have talked about the content of the curriculum and skills sessions as affecting them deeply and altering what how they approach leadership in their context for the better. For example, a session on equality, diversity and inclusion provoked deep discussion and action to address the topic.
The reflection and rigour required to present a topic at the Mastermind session as well as giving expert, considered advice has given a discipline to the participants thinking along with fresh perspectives.
“I would thoroughly recommend this Leadership Mastermind course. This is a course of many layers which maintains interest, develops and challenges all at once. Gill and Matt have created a sophisticated course that is further enhanced by the professional peers that sign up to it”.
